At Intec, we are a group of people specialized in cybersecurity and what we want with this blog is to inform you of any news and news about computer security not only in the Balearic Islands but anywhere in the world.
This blog is focused on the general public, which means we will avoid getting into technicalities that only experts in the field understand., our idea is that anyone can be informed and up to date on this changing field, that is increasingly part of our lives.
Most people have an idea of how the economy is doing… (very bad by the way :)), or how the policy is… (as well as the economy :):)) but, How many people are really up to date on important aspects of technology that affect us all??
We are going to give you some examples of news like the ones we will be sharing with you:
- The theft of 500 millions of usernames and account passwords on the giant Yahoo.
- The hacking of 60 millions of accounts in the Dropbox system, that so many of us use.
- Any of us can have the phone hacked without knowing it, “alguien podría activar el micrófono, the camera, gps…” para así saber lo que estamos haciendo, Talking (and when we say talking we don't mean what we talk about in a call, if not what we talk about in our day to day having the mobile next to it, thinking that no one listens to us), what we send by whatsapp, usernames and passwords, pages we access, etc.
- A hacker connected to the engine of an airplane in mid-flight.
- Cybercrime is today one of the 'businesses'’ more profitable than exist, generating as much money as drug trafficking, we don't even want to imagine in a few years, with the advent of the Internet of Things* (20.000 millions of devices connected to the Internet), what our world can become…
*Internet of Things or Iot, por su acrónimo en inglés “Internet of Things”, explained clearly and quickly, means that everything or almost everything is going to be connected to the Internet (Televisions, Refrigerators, sandwich makers, consoladores (no kidding…), Cars, Bicycles, the dog's collar, Watches, smart clothing, heating, pacemaker…)
As you can see there is a lot to talk about, a lot to tell and many things to warn you about.
