The personal data of more than half a million blood donors in Australia have been published in a massive security breach.

The Executive Director of the Red Cross Service in Australia, Shelly Park, he said in an interview that the information had been revealed by an “unauthorized person”.

the file was stored insecurely on a web server

The file, which was a backup of the forms issued by donors to the Red Cross website in the last 6 years, has been removed and a forensic analysis is being carried out to clarify the facts.

“The file contained names, Addresses, as well as health information of the donors”, comment S. Park.

On the other hand, donors have been warned to warn them of possible cases of scam through phone or e-mail.
