Russian hacker group accused of interfering in U.S. presidential election has set its eye on other elections: the German ones. This is assured by the intelligence agency of the German country.
Cyberattacks such as phishing against German politicians have increased in recent weeks.
The phishing technique used is very basic. They send an email posing as Google, prompting the recipient to enter their login information (username and password). Once the recipient performs the process, your account is compromised, giving full access to cybercriminals.
In October of this same year, U.S. intelligence agencies accused the same group of hackers of interfering with and manipulating U.S. elections, accusing Russia of cyberespionage. Nevertheless, the Kremlin has denied any involvement in the events.
