Facebook Messenger

A security flaw would have allowed hackers to have full access to your private Facebook Messenger conversations and messages.

Facebook Messenger is the instant messaging application used by Facebook, with one billion users using it every month.

The discovery has been carried out by a security expert from the firm Cynet. The security flaw allowed the system to be fooled, bypassing the access credentials used by the user and gaining full access to the messages of the compromised account.

To achieve this, the attacker simply had to trick the user with an infected bait link. As usual, since Intec we recommend you to be very careful with the links you click.

The vulnerability has already been fixed by Facebook, although this system may still be used for other applications that use the same system.

  1. Es normal, este tipo de aplicaciones suele ser vulnerable, por eso es importante no mandar informacion valiosa por estos medios.
Un ejemplo es el messenger bot, un bot que se configura para responder automaticamente, seguro que todos quisieran tener uno.

    saludos.
