Police Robot

Dubai Police have unveiled their first police robot, giving you the task of patrolling the city's shopping malls and tourist attractions. People will be able to use it to report crimes to the authorities, Pay fines and get information by tapping the touchscreen on your chest.

The data collected by the robot will also be shared with transport and traffic authorities.

The government said that the 20% of agents would be robotic to 2030, but that it would not replace humans.

“We are not going to replace our police officers with this tool”, said Brig Khalid Al Razooqi, General Manager of Smart Services at Dubai Police. “But with the increase in the number of people in Dubai, We want to relocate police officers to work in the right areas and focus on providing a safe city.

“Most people visit police stations or customer service, but with this tool we can reach the public the 24 hours of the day, the 7 Days of the week. It can protect people from crime because it transmits what's happening immediately to our command and control center”.

At present, it is possible to communicate only in Arabic and English, but there are plans to add Russian, Chinese, French and Spanish to his repertoire.

A second robot could join it next year, to accompany you on your patrol duty, depending on the funds, said the government in Dubai.
