Hello, I am Juanjo Fuster, the manager of Intec, and although due to lack of time I am not usually the one who writes the news, in this very special case I have spent some of my little free time to be able to do it myself personally.
Under the name 'Project ESCUT', hemos creado el primer centro de ciberseguridad de Baleares cuyo principal objetivo es proteger a la sociedad y a las empresas de las islas contra ciberataques e incidentes informáticos. El centro está operado por nuestro equipo de expertos en ciberseguridad, del cual estoy orgulloso y basta decir que está reconocido internacionalmente como uno de los pocos equipos especializados de España. Desde Intec colaboramos con las fuerzas del orden y contamos con nuestra propia red internacional de colaboradores tales como empresas, centros de investigación y especialistas en USA, UK e Israel principalmente.
ESCUT ha sido diseñado para proteger a todas las Islas Baleares utilizando los sistemas de seguridad más innovadores y pioneros de la actualidad que utilizando inteligencia artificial, machine learning y big data, permitirán vigilar en todo momento la ciberseguridad en el ámbito balear, permitiendo adelantarse a los incidentes y responder lo antes posible para poder eliminar las amenazas que vayan surgiendo.
Intec es una de las empresas españolas con más capacidad para proteger a sus clientes, offering a level of service and protection that until now only large companies could afford. One of our main challenges has been to design a service that is economically accessible to SMEs and we have achieved it, from now on any company will be able to afford to be as well protected as a large one, don’t stay alone outside of ESCUT.
This project 100% from Mallorca, has been possible after several years of hard work, effort, many trips, financial investment that I don’t even want to think about, and an relentless search for the best collaborators around the world, a task that is far from easy since most companies invest more in marketing than in the technical side. This pursuit of excellence (siempre me han dicho que si hay que hacer algo, hazlo bien hecho, sino no lo hagas) nos ha llevado a crear un sistema hecho en y para Baleares que no va a tener nada que envidiar a ningún otro sistema de seguridad del mundo.
Os puedo decir que cuando salimos fuera y explicamos lo que hacemos, a todo el mundo le sorprende que estemos en Mallorca, siempre nos preguntan lo mismo ‘¿donde estáis, en Barcelona o en Madrid?’ se piensan que aquí sólo hay playas y que estamos todo el día bajo un cocotero tomando caipirinhas, pero la realidad es que llevamos bastante tiempo recibiendo CV de auténticas eminencias en la materia que trabajan fuera y que tienen ganas de apuntarse al proyecto y venir a trabajar con nosotros, attracted by the fact of being able to work in what they are passionate about and doing it in one of the best places in the world.
To finish, I will tell you that one of our greatest goals and aspirations in the medium/long term is to create an ecosystem that not only allows us to be well protected, but also to create industry in cybersecurity, invest in R&D&I, develop talent along with institutes and the university, attract talent instead of sending it away and generate local wealth.
