There is a platform of Israeli origin called MyHeritage, from there we can create our family tree by filling in a series of data, unfortunately this platform has reported that it has suffered a breach on its website caused by unknown attackers that has affected some 92 million users.

MyHeritage began to become aware of the data breach on 4 of June of 2018, after an unidentified security researcher discovered a file called “myheritage” stored on a private server not belonging to the company.

Apparently, the data that could have been fraudulently obtained is not very compromising, but still MyHeritage recommends that all its users change their password as soon as possible.

Credit card and account data have not been hacked because they are encrypted, as well as other data that could be compromised.

MyHeritage has hired an independent cybersecurity team to conduct a forensic investigation of the data breach. In addition, it has also announced that it is adding the two-step authentication feature as an additional option for its users.
