The cybersecurity company Zerodium offers a large reward to anyone who manages to hack WhatsApp. It is not the first time that this company rewards this type of achievement in this way, They have already done it with Google, Android, iPhone and Microsoft Spartan (what today is Microsoft Edge).
Zerodium is a company specialized in buying and selling online hacking tools and exploits for governments around the world, hence the magnitude of this reward.
The tweet with this proposal and its conditions is written from the 7 January 2019, therefore, for now, it seems that no one has achieved it.
Announcement: We are increasing our bounties for almost every product.
We’re now paying $2,000,000 for remote iOS jailbreaks, $1,000,000 for WhatsApp/iMessage/SMS/MMS RCEs, and $500,000 for Chrome RCEs.
