The Russian government recently announced that the Runet has been successfully launched.

The Runet is a Russian project through which the country would be completely isolated from the global Internet, using its own servers and Internet providers.

This project is intended to protect Russia from external threats, and recently tests have been carried out to check its operation.

The Deputy Minister of Communications, Alexey Sokolov, announced that the results of the tests conducted showed that the authorities and telecommunications operators are prepared to respond, effectively, to external risks and threats.

Sokolov stated that during the tests various disconnection exercises were carried out, ciberataques externos a la Runet y seguridad de las redes de comunicación móvil.

Por último declaró que los resultados de las pruebas se realizaron en Moscú y otras ciudades importantes del país y que serán presentados al presidente, Vladimir Putin, el próximo año.
