The most hated browser in history will stop receiving support for IE11 on Windows 10. With the selection of Microsoft Edge as Windows' main browser 10, the lifetime of Internet Explorer began its countdown.
The company announced that support for Internet Explorer 11 will end on 17 August 2021. This means it will no longer be compatible with Microsoft's online services like Office 365, Outlook, OneDrive and more. Internet Explorer 11 and Microsoft Edge Legacy will lose support on 2021.
In Microsoft's blog 365, the company announced, in its event calendar, important dates. In the timeline, it shows 30 November. 2020 as the last day that IE11 will have support in Microsoft Teams.
Microsoft Edge Legacy, the version included in Windows 10 by default, will also lose support. The browser known as Project Spartan, which Microsoft used to replace Internet Explorer, is no longer maintained in Microsoft's plans.
A few weeks ago, the company announced that it would integrate the Chromium-based Edge version into the next major Windows update 10.
Internet Explorer 11 will reach the end of its life on 17 August 2021. Microsoft says that IE11 will not disappear, those who have apps developed for IE11 will be able to use the Internet Explorer mode included in the latest version of Microsoft Edge.
