The most hated browser in history will stop receiving support for IE11 on Windows 10. With the selection of Microsoft Edge as Windows' main browser 10, the lifetime of Internet Explorer began its countdown.
The company announced that support for Internet Explorer 11 will end on 17 August 2021. This means it will no longer be compatible with Microsoft's online services like Office 365, Outlook, OneDrive and more. Internet Explorer 11 and Microsoft Edge Legacy will lose support on 2021.
In Microsoft's blog 365, the company announced, in its event calendar, important dates. In the timeline, it shows 30 November. 2020 as the last day that IE11 will have support in Microsoft Teams.
Microsoft Edge Legacy, la versión incluida en Windows 10 by default, también se quedará sin soporte. El navegador conocido como Project Spartan con el que Microsoft sustituyó a Internet Explorer ya no se mantiene en los planes de Microsoft.
Hace algunas semanas la compañía anunció que integraría la versión de Edge basada en Chromium en la próxima gran actualización de Windows 10.
Internet Explorer 11 concluirá su tiempo de vida el 17 August 2021. Microsoft dice que IE11 no desaparecerá, aquellos que tengan apps desarrolladas para IE11 podrán usar el modo Internet Explorer que se incluye en la versión más reciente de Microsoft Edge.
