Indonesian authorities have recently reported that their application for tracing close contacts of COVID-19 positive cases, called eHAC, has suffered a data leak. At least one million people could have their personal data exposed.

This application was developed to help detect infections of the dangerous virus, It was produced by vpnMentor, which admitted last Monday that the data includes contact information, identifying data, and COVID test results.

Quickly, authorities have reported that they have disconnected this initial system, eHAC, to replace it with a new tracing application, PeduliLindungi.
