In recent days Covid certificates with clearly false names have been leaked, suggesting that someone may have been able to obtain the necessary keys to create fake passports. These events have alerted the European Union about the inherent security of the Covid Certificate system.
According to what the EU CERT has described, the appearance of tampered passports has been confirmed and for this reason these records are being closely monitored and contact is maintained with the authorities to investigate it. Right now the priority is to follow the developments being made around the case.
For its part, numerous criminals have posted offers on different forums offering certificates “valid” for the sum of about €300. In addition, on the forum they boast about what they have achieved, showing the private keys.
Ahora las autoridades deberían centrar sus esfuerzos en mejorar las medidas de seguridad del certificado Covid, y los ciudadanos deberían obtenerlos en los puestos habilitados para ello. Cada vez más gobiernos proponen restringir accesos a ciertos lugares solamente a aquellas personas que presenten un certificado válido, con lo que aquí se ha abierto un mercado para los pasaportes falsos.
