Cybercriminals have managed to compromise the FBI's email system and sent thousands of messages warning of a possible cyberattack.

Although the hardware affected by the incident was immediately disconnected to prevent further consequences. The hackers were sending thousands of emails to recipients informing them of the danger of a cyberattack.

These events quickly alerted the FBI itself, the Department of Justice and the security infrastructures of the U.S. government.

So far, no further news about these events is known, but the sending of fake emails appears to have ceased.
