A vulnerability affecting multimedia content on Android devices could allow access to external attackers. This vulnerability has been discovered in both WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business, with the name “Image Blurring Handler”.

This vulnerability could give access to victims' devices with something as simple as an image with hidden malicious code inside it. Opening this image, would cause a memory overflow, allowing the attacker to have full access to the device's data.

The easiest way to mitigate this is to update the application to the latest available version. This is one of the most common practices to keep applications free of this type of flaw that can open the door to cybercriminals.
