The healthcare sector has been one of the most attacked since the beginning of the pandemic. This time it has affected the Balearic Islands. IB-Salut has recently confirmed that it has suffered a cyberattack and is applying security protocols.

This attack has affected all centers dependent on IB-Salut, including hospitals, PAC and primary care centers. This alert has been detected and has forced changing the passwords of the Service professionals and restricting Internet use to protect the systems. The authorities indicate that it was detected two weeks ago.

So far, the consequences of this intrusion are unknown. Por ahora no se sabe si personas ajenas al sistema han podido acceder a los datos personales de los pacientes o si se han visto afectados otras bases de datos.
