Cybercrime continues to rise, especially since the outbreak of COVID-19. The rushed implementation of remote work has given free rein to cybercriminals to commit many more crimes than before 2019.

In the Balearic Islands, the increase has been of around 3.000 reports in 2018 to 11.800 in 2020, with 90% the most common type of case being computer fraud. The most frequent victims are SMEs.
