The pandemic has made teleworking here to stay. One of the most used tools for this is to use Remote Desktops, which makes it an attack vector. A threat report points out that attacks on these types of systems are the most prevalent.

ESET Spain, a well-known security firm, highlights in its latest report (which covers the last four months of the year 2021) that Spain leads the ranking as the country where the most attacks on Remote Desktop systems have been detected, with a total of 51.000 Million. Italy follows with half as many attacks.

In this report, it is also regrettable that in Spain a large number of Ransomware attacks also occur, being in a middle position in the ranking.

These results highlight the lack of awareness and resources dedicated to protecting information security, cosa que habría que mejorar si de verdad queremos evitar perjuicios mayores en el futuro.
