The Japanese manufacturer has been forced to shut down 14 its factories amid suspicions of cyberattacks against electronic component suppliers this past week.

The incident occurred at Kojima Industries, supplier of electronic components and plastic parts for the automotive giant. The company also confirmed that it received messages demanding a ransom from ransomware.

Toyota reported that operations were to resume last Wednesday. The impact has been about 13.000 vehicles not being manufactured, almost a third of its global annual production.

El conflicto con Rusia es una fuente de sospecha de este ciberataque y la compañía va a investigar si se trata realmente de esto.
