A recent survey has detected that the majority of developers do not act with the same criteria when facing the security of their applications. Only one 14% Of them, prioritize security.

The study confirms that more than half of the 1200 respondents are not sure that their code is protected from 7 common vulnerabilities. This is because only the 29% of developers believe that developing code without vulnerabilities should be prioritized.

The main reason developers do not prioritize security is due to delivery deadlines (the 24%) or that they do not have sufficient knowledge (20%) to develop secure applications.

Organizations should implement policies for learning secure development techniques to create new products that are released securely, instead of patching as vulnerabilities are detected.
