Denial of Service attacks (DDoS) are one of the preferred attacks by cybercriminals. In them, attempts to knock down the service provided by the companies. These types of attacks increased in 2021, not only in number but in subtypes of attacks.

The results of a study by Comcast Business claim that there has been a large increase in multi-vector DDoS attacks, I mean, those directed to multiple sites on the network at once including applications and connection nodes. Specifically a 47% respect 2020.

The data also show that these types of attacks have been totally indiscriminate and have been directed towards multiple typologies of victims., with nothing specific to highlight. Anyway, the health and education sector is the favorite target of criminals.

These figures highlight the need to improve the protection measures of all those infrastructures of the network, not just to prevent ransomware, but also to prevent these types of Denial of Service attacks
