Passwords are, for the time being, the authentication mechanism used to verify the identity of people accessing a system. Unfortunately, we do not take care of this information as we should.

A survey conducted by Hitachi ID has found that 46% of organizations store credentials in shared documents. Although insecure passwords remain the main cause of cyberattacks, a poor procedure for securely storing this information is also a cause.

The survey also shows that only 5% of companies are completely sure that an employee leaving the company would not take the credentials with them.
