A few weeks ago we learned about a case of a U.S. university that had to close due to a cyberattack. This time we learn that the FBI warns that the credentials of many students are for sale on public forums and the dark web.

The credentials are believed to have been obtained through credential stuffing, phishing attacks, ransomware attacks, or other types of cyberattacks.

Historically, there have been cases of this type in Chicago, with information leaked from some 56.000 employees and half a million students, as well as the New York State Department of Education itself, affecting the data of more than a million people.
