Many times we insist on installing apps from official websites or from default stores. Unfortunately, like today's case, sometimes Malware can sneak in. This is the case of an extension called “Download Manager”.
This extension promised to increase download speeds “up to 500%” to be able “Download games, Movies and music in a few minutes”. It was actually malware that displays a lot of ads, what is known as “Adware”.
Google didn't notice its presence until recently, Wearing in the store since June 2019. Some users did alert their behavior in the store's comment panels.
