An attack has paralyzed several irrigation systems and several wastewater treatment plants. The country's Cyber Directorate was already prepared for the possibility of a hacking campaign and requested to disable remote connections.
Local media claim that it is an annual campaign called OpIsrael that usually floods targets during the month of April through Denial of Service attacks. Despite the warnings, several farms ignored the alerts and were affected by the attack, by not disabling remote connections.
In the initial investigations, it has been determined that it was possible to complete the attack thanks to a series of weak passwords in several systems. A device that had a vulnerability has also been found.
