Nagoya accounts for a 10% of the total volume of containers passing through Japan. A ransomware cyberattack has caused a service disruption. The incident occurred last 4 of July in the early hours of the morning.
The incident occurred on the system that unifies all container terminals. According to BleepingComputer the damages lasted for more than a day, causing huge financial losses.
This attack adds to the one that occurred last January in Lisbon, this time by the Russian gang LockBit. On that occasion, the ransom requested amounted to the figure of 1,5 million dollars. The amount requested from the Japanese port is unknown.
