Operation Chronos, a collaboration of law enforcement forces from several countries, has dealt a blow to one of the most popular ransomware distribution gangs. Their dark web site is now under the control of the UK's National Crime Agency (NCA).

They have collaborated with the FBI and agencies from France, Japan, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Holland, Switzerland, Australia and Canada. Now, the websites are only a facade and do not contain any relevant information.

According to the media outlet Bleeping Computer, the shutdown of 34 servers in the Netherlands, Germany, Finland, Switzerland, Australia, the USA and the UK and the takeover of more than 14.000 fraudulent accounts has been documented.
