Spain is in the crosshairs of cybercriminals. This is reflected in the latest report “Threat Report” prepared by ESET, a well-known developer of anti-malware systems. Spain has placed third behind Japan and Poland in the number of threat detections worldwide.

The report details trends between December and 2023 and May of 2024. In this period, Spain leads the statistics in cases of phishing detected in the last six months and is placed in the Top 10 Worldwide detections of Ransomware-type attacks.

The case of software to steal information is also detailed, Known by the term infostealers. In this case, in Spain have been found up to 87% detections of these situations. These malicious software are mainly used to steal credentials.
