JAXA, por sus siglas en inglés, has discovered that it was attacked through the exploitation of zero-day vulnerabilities at the end of 2023. According to the media outlet The Register, the implementation of Active Directory was the most affected by this attack.
The agency disabled the involved systems and initiated the relevant investigation to verify that no other systems were compromised. Initial investigations point to unauthorized access to Microsoft 365.
Fortunately, this attack did not affect sensitive information related to vehicles and launch operations, as well as information related to cooperation with national and international partners.
