Smart TV

Televisions have stopped being the “dumb box” to become “smart”. That is why sooner or later the inevitable had to happen: the infection of televisions by computer viruses.

In this case, it is LG's turn, which has seen several of its Smart TVs or smart televisions rendered unusable due to ransomware (the infamous malware that encrypts all the information on the device and demands a ransom).

Affected customers have been uploading photos and videos online showing what happened, as well as displaying the condition of the infected devices.

Malware, by encrypting files vital for the television's operating system, it causes a general malfunction of the device, así como el bloqueo total del mismo.
