Apple has always boasted of its desktop operating system (Mac OS) as the only virus-free system on the market, making it look like you don't need any kind of antivirus protection to protect it. Things have changed.

While it is true that Mac is undoubtedly a secondary target in the face of cyber attacks, taking the brunt of its competitor Windows, it is also true that its operating system is present in less than the 10% of the world's computers. Nevertheless, viruses and malware targeting Mac OS-equipped devices is the order of the day.

Malwarebytes, the company specialized in antivirus and antimalware software, has found the first malware targeting Mac OS from 2017, Fruitfly.

Apple has been informed of this and has released an update to protect devices against future attacks., but this type of communication makes it clear that no system is free from being infected and that all protection is little.
