Movistar Phishing

A new phishing campaign is spreading through emails pretending to be from Movistar, trying to steal users' login credentials.

As you can see in the header image, The email warns that the user's account has been suspended and that you can “update” your information at the link below.

Despite the spelling mistakes in the email, we might think that the link is legitimate, since it points to a Movistar domain.

Don't be fooled, in reality, the link is a piece of text that hides a web address underneath. In this case, the text is “correo.movistar.es”, but the link it redirects to is a completely different one, como veréis a continuación:

La web también está muy lograda para conseguir imitar a la propia de Movistar, pero si os fijáis en la dirección web, no tiene nada que ver con la marca.
