The company SolarWinds is working very hard these days to fix a new Zero-Day vulnerability currently being actively exploited. These attacks were discovered a few days ago, and the company reported security flaws in the Serv-U Managed File Transfer and Serv-U Secure FTP products affecting “a limited and specific group of customers”.
This vulnerability is completely new and in no way related to the Sunburst supply chain attacks, the company states in its statement. These attacks were discovered by Microsoft itself, when detecting live attacks that exploited a code vulnerability in the SolarWinds Serv-U product.
Junto a la actualización, la compañía también ha publicado unos Indicadores de compromiso (IOC por sus siglas en inglés), this way customers will have some help to know if they have been affected by this vulnerability. Obviously, the more specific details have been omitted in this post, to prevent new attacks.
At last, SolarWinds also recommends disabling SSH to prevent remote connections that could facilitate these exploits.
Una vez más, news of this type reminds us of the importance of keeping our systems updated.
