In a world full of passwords where it is advisable to have a different one for each service, cloud platforms for managing them have emerged. LastPass, one of the most popular applications, has recently confirmed an attack on several of its systems.
The security breach resulted in the theft of several parts of the application's code and technical documentation. At first, no intrusion involving user data was detected, as far as we know.
LastPass informed its users of the incident via email and initiated protocols to mitigate the consequences of the attack. LastPass also states that user data is stored in encrypted storage that can only be unlocked with the user's password.
Due to this type of attack, it is vital to enable two-factor authentication and apply strong credentials to our accounts.
