A multitude of parents and teaching staff at primary and secondary education centers in Singapore were affected by a breach of the information stored in the mobile device management system used in schools, Mobile Guardian. Students use iPads or Chromebooks as their personal education devices.

The country's Ministry of Education has issued a statement explaining what happened, indicating that there was unauthorized access related to the company's user management portal. This application is installed on students' devices, allowing parents to manage the use of these devices, restricting, for example, the available usage time or restricted websites.

The institution takes the opportunity to reassure those affected and submit a police report about it, as well as to begin investigative work with security experts to thoroughly investigate what happened.
