The company Getac warns that cybercrime in Spain is advancing faster than investments in cybersecurity: the costs could soar a 148% up to reach 69.000 million euros in 2028, while protection budgets only grow a 5,7% annual.

Key sectors such as industrial manufacturing (26% of attacks in 2024), energy (10%) and transport (7%) face the greatest vulnerability, worsened by digitalization that expands the attack surface in remote environments with mobile devices and 5G connectivity. Getac cites the cyberattack on Jaguar Land Rover —the most costly in UK history— as an example of severe operational disruptions.

To protect yourself, it is recommended to start implementing multi-factor authentication systems, end-to-end encryption with VPN, continuous firmware updates and clear incident response plans.
